Kids love to eat.
\nDo you have an old favorite family recipe the kids all love?
\nBring the message home to them that they can thank \u201cCousin Jennie Pearl Ewer\u201d for that cake recipe.<\/p>\n

Take a moment to tell them who she was and how her recipe has passed down in the family.<\/p>\n

Document your old family recipes: write them down, take photos, and add them to your family tree.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what I did.<\/p>\n

My great-grandmother entered her favorite recipes into a handwritten book she started in 1887. That cookbook has been passed down in the family.<\/p>\n

For example, here is a recipe she credited to her cousin Jennie Pearl (Drew) Ewer (1873-1933).<\/p>\n

Take it a step further.
\nI added that recipe to Jennie (Drew) Ewer\u2019s page in the family tree<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now when I whip up that cake recipe I can ask the kids if they remember who was responsible for this cake \u2013 and if they can find me her recipe attached to her page in the family tree.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll remember her \u2013 she was the bringer of cake \u2013 and with a click they will pull up her page in the family tree.<\/p>\n

And, they\u2019ll want a piece of her chocolate cake!<\/p>\n
