1860 Obituary Tells a Gripping Story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 6 May 1815 Captain James Riley\u2013 with Archibald Robbins part of his crew \u2013 \u00a0sailed \u201cfrom Saybrook, Conn., for the Cape de Verde Islands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Robbins\u2019 obituary reports, they didn\u2019t make it.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15267\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15267\" style=\"width: the coast of Morocco they were forced to swim to shore, where their troubles turned from bad to worse.<\/p>\n<p>They were captured and made slaves.<\/p>\n<p>Archibald Robbins\u2019 obituary refers
