Death of Roland Rea (Sep 1904)
Occurred at Scyples' gin (about 7 miles north of DeKalb) . Mr. Rea had his forearm caught in the gin machinery and terribly torn and mangled. He was not otherwise injured...no one knew of anything to do to stop the flow of blood, and that the wounded man actually bled to death before a physician could reach ream.
