Channel 31 adds 3 local shows Ann Arbor’s television station, WIHT-TV Channel 31, Friday announced the addition of three new local television programs to its Fall schedule. The programs will all be produced at Channel 31 studios. They include: • “Michigan Press Box” with Tom Heming way, which will highlight University of Michigan sporting events. • “Help Wanted,” which will list, on a weekly basis, job opportunities in the broadcast area. • “This Week,” which will report on area en tertainment and community service activities. In addition the nationally syndicated chil dren’s program “Hot Fudge,” and “The Law rence Welk Show,” “The American Educational Television Network” and “Real Estate Action Line” are being added. According to Program Director David Horo witz, these new programming changes will pro vide a more diversified TV 31 broadcast schedule to the south-central Michigan viewer. “We see the introduction of our three new local programs as a further step in establishing a greater involvement and interrelationship with our viewers; a process we began with “Tavi.” (“Tavi,” a weekly interview show featuring Tavi Fulkerson, will be returning for its second eason on September 21.) The other new syndicated pro gram additions are proved entities which should continue to please our audience.” “Michigan Press Box” will be aired at 6:30 p.m. Fridays, beginning Sept. 18.’“Help Want ed,” which will be presented in cooperation with the Michigan Employment Security Commission (MESC), will be broadcast at 7 p.m. each Mon day, beginning Sept. 21. “This Week” will be broadcast at 7:30 p.m. on Mondays, also starting Sept. 21.
