The ultrahigh. frequency station, KJTM-TV, Channel 38, will have studios and offices at both Pine ..Bluff and little Rockand will have a 5 million watt signal that will be. capable of providing quality re ception as far : away as Hot' Springs, Loving said. Channel 38 . will broadcast from a 2,000-foot tower being built at Redfield, half- - way between Pine Bluff and Little Rock. TVX, which last year had gross revenues of $17.4 million, owns and operates independent com mercial UHF television stations at Norfolk, Va., Winston-Salem, N.C., Nashville, Tenn., and WMKW-TV, Channel 30, at Memphis. The company last month went public with a $28 million-stock of- . fering and recently .entered into’ agreements to buy UHF television stations at New Orleans and Ra leigh, N.C. TVX expects the Fed eral Communications Commission will order it to sell its Winston-Sa lem station once the purchase of Pine Bluff/Uttle Rock, AR the .Raleigh station is final. . The company also is building a new UHF station at Buffalo, N.Y., and . owns a minority interest in a li cense .to build a UHF station at San Antonio, Tex. . . Channel 38 will operate as Tele vision Corporation of Arkansas, a subsidiary of TVX. The station will require a $6 million invest ment in its first year and is not ex pected to become profitable for ' three years, Loving said.
